Read what students have to say about online classes.

I have taken quite a number of online classes, ranging from digital scrapbooking to quilting to journal making to mixed media techniques.  I have found online classes to be an excellent way of learning.  You can complete the lessons at your own pace whenever you have the time.  Sue Bleiweiss's classes have been among my very favorites.  Sue is an excellent teacher.  Her written materials are very thorough with pictures and she is very responsive to questions, often answering within minutes of posting your question.  She is very creative with the ideas she presents.  I highly recommend her classes!

I recently took Sue's Mixed Media Journaling online class and it was fabulous.  I love being able to work at home and to be able to communicate with the instructor, as well as all the students in the class, online.  The constant flow of ideas, being able to see photos of what everyone is doing, and the outstanding and immediate help from  Sue is something I have never experienced in a hands-on class. Hope to take more of these classes.

I have taken many online classes over the past few years and find this style of learning fabulous. Not only do you get to work in a class with a renowned teacher like Sue, who I would not normally have the opportunity to do, but also you can "attend" your class at whatever time of day suits you. You have the added advantage of printed lessons which many teachers no longer provide in a face to face class which you can refer to long after the class has finished. One of the biggest advantage to me is that I can feel comfortable about asking that "silly" question as no-one really knows me anyway, Sue makes you feel very comfortable about asking questions and suggestions can also come from others in the large class from all around the world.  The class discussions and gallery give you loads of ideas and with larger numbers of participants in the classes many questions are asked that may not have occurred to you and you can keep note for future reference.  My advice to anyone thinking of trying an online class is to go take one and enjoy it, you will be totally hooked on them.

If you cannot get to a class, online learning is definitely the next best thing. I have taken 3 of Sue's classes, am just starting my 4th and I am already signed up for number 5.  That probably says it all. A supplies list is sent well before the class starts so supplies can be bought and Sue can be contacted with any problems.  Lessons are always sent on time, each one being a pdf file which is very well presented, with clear instructions and lots of photos to illustrate each step.

In addition, Sue has an online group for each class and an alumni group where members can chat, exchange ideas and photos of their work.  Members come from all over the world so can help each other out with any particular problems relating to locating supplies.  Any queries can be posted and Sue is very quick in responding to all comments and queries.  The members of the group quickly become friends and everyone, including Sue,  is very helpful and supportive.  I have taken many online classes from many teachers but I always look forward to one of Sue's classes and, for me, they are the best online classes I have taken.  I have no hesitation in recommending any and all of them.

I had never taken an online class before I took Sue's Journal making for the Fiber Artist class. (In fact, I was somewhat leary.) No fears- the class was terrific.  Sue's instructions were specific and easy to follow.  She responds to questions immediately.  The feedback from the others in the class is also very helpful and informative-- and very encouraging and supportive.  I also found the online albums a great way to see what the other students are doing, and to get great ideas for changes and improvements to my own work.  Having a homework assignment gave me motivation to create, play, and have fun.

The experience was so good that I am now taking my second class with Sue, More Journal making.  I highly recommend online learning-- especially from Sue.

I love online classes: no lugging of supplies only to find that you didn't bring the right things. No worry about traffic, gas prices, and being late. No worry about snow in winter that makes getting up my hill a challenge. A wide range of class types that would be hard to find in any one area.  As far as interaction with class members, there's always an online group to take part in, and many members who love to share. The teachers I've had-and I've taken many classes-have been very good at answering my questions. Any computer technical problems I've ran into, someone has answered, helping me to become a much better computer operator.

The internet made the world smaller and I love the online classes that you international artists give!  I'm living in the Netherlands and online classes are the way to learn so much! All the classes I followed were good, explanations and photo's made everything clear. The yahoo-groups are good, not especially necessary for me, but that is a personal preference. What I also love is that you can do everything in the time that suits you, that's probably why I don't use the yahoo-groups, doing things at another time. I've done Terri's class "quilting paper" and will do the mixed media class next month.   I've done 3 (or 4) of Sue's classes and now I'm doing the "more journals" class and I'm also going to do the Susan Sorrell class!

Without the online classes I never should have learned all these lovely techniques and I use them all!  Very good to have the information on your computer (or printed) when you forget things and look back at the class! Not a lot of people I know do online classes, but for us "Dutchies" the lessons are always in a foreign language!  But I'm so enthusiastic about these lessons and always tell how good and nice they are.

Many of us already know the benefits of taking online classes.  One big advantage, of course, is being able to do the assignments anytime and anywhere.  Aside from that, the teacher remains the most important factor in the success of any course.  I have experienced Terri's teaching methods and materials.  Let me tell you, they are top notch!  Your success is important to Terri and she responds immediately to your questions.  I highly recommend her classes.  You are guaranteed to learn and you will enjoy yourself along the way!

I had gathered art materials for a long time but it was not until I took Sue Bleiweiss's course on Mixed Media Surfaces and Creative Journaling that I actually found the courage to use them and thoroughly enjoyed being part of Sue's class. I can recommend that anyone new to mixed media should sign up and have a go and rest assured Sue will be with you 100% of the way with encouragement and support.

I am just finishing up my first class from Terri Stegmiller, and I have really enjoyed it!  In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I've signed up for a second class.  I have taken many online classes from many different teachers over the last few years, and Terri's class has been among the best.  Terri is a very good teacher.  Her written material for the class is always very clear and straightforward, with good pictures.  She is very responsive to questions, answering quickly.  And her projects are such fun.  I highly recommend Terri's classes!

I have found Sue's journal making course to be a wonderfully inspiring way to encourage my  creativity, so much so that I am doing her second one!  Her instructions are clear and cover each point step by step with lots of photos.    The best thing about it is that you can print out the
instructions and you have them for all time - you don't have to worry about missing a class or getting behind.  And of course you don't have to leave your house and carry piles of supplies to a workshop.

The fact that you get a new class each week is a great incentive to keep going so you can compare notes with the other people on the course (from all around the world - I'm in the UK) via the Yahoo group which Sue sets up.  And you learn a great deal from each other as well as from Sue, who is
always there to answer any queries - does she ever sleep?!

I've found the journal courses a great way to use up all those gorgeous hand dyed fabrics I didn't dare cut into and even to print some more.  And of course they're a great excuse to buy even more supplies....

I love to take on-line classes.  The classes I can do in my area are very limited.  The classes on the Internet are unlimited and varied.  I can work at my own pace and do the lesson all in one day or spread it over the week depending on what is going on in my life at the time.

Going into the class forums is a great way to catch up with everyone else in the class, swap ideas and get inspiration and, of course, help if needed.

Terri's classes are great fun and informative.  I printed off my class lessons and now have a wonderful book to refer to.  Terri's sense of fun and love of colour have helped me put the joy back into creating artworks.

If you are thinking of taking an online class, especially one of Terri's, I would say go for it.  You will not be sorry at all.

Sue's online journal making classes are wonderful, fun, creative and well designed.

The structure of the class is the perfect balance between doing the project on your own time each week along with being a part of a highly interactive, creative group of supportive fellow students.

Not only does Sue provide wonderful projects each week that are well organized and pictured each step of the way, Sue is always right there waiting for a question to answer. :)  Her attention to her students is amazing in its timeliness and clarity.

I am excited to start my second class with Sue and I know there will be many more in the future.
